The first system for the Chambers of Commerce and Industry No. 2829 was issued in 12/8/1368 AH. In accordance with the commercial and industrial revolution in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a new system for the Chambers of Commerce and Industry was issued by the Royal Decree No. M6, in 30/4/1400 AH, and its executive regulation was issued by the Ministerial decision No. 1871, dated 22/5/1401 AH. In line with the policy of the ministry to carry out periodic review of the commercial systems for upgrading, the concerned authority in the ministry for the year 1422 prepared a draft of a new system for the Chambers of Commerce and Industry, one which meets the existing requirements of the chambers and the Council of Chambers and stays up-to-date with new developments and modern requirements to achieve comprehensive development and enhance the role of the Chambers in the present and future.
The system of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the Kingdom has been and still is playing a growing role in organizing the activities of the private sector and it has achieved many accomplishments in leading the institutional work for this sector like sponsoring its initiatives and promoting its contributions to the implementation of present and future comprehensive development programs, a role that continues to have the encouragement and support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his wise government.
